In addition, it modulates the activity of white blood cells, contributes to the activation of natural killer cells and exerts a fibrinolytic, anti-edematous and antithrombotic effect. It is therefore an effective natural remedy for the prevention and control of various acute ailments and pathologies. It is successfully used in the treatment of dyspepsia and to aid protein digestion, especially in cases of pancreatic deficiency. It also has an antibacterial effect in diarrhea and improves the effectiveness of antibiotics in various situations.

Thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties, bromelain can be used after exercise to reduce muscle pain (DOMS) and speed up recovery. In this case, thanks to its significant anti-edematous properties, it helps to reduce fluids produced by trauma to counteract peripheral fluid retention and the formation of cellulite. Due to its antiplatelet and fibrinolytic effects, attention must be paid to possible adverse effects of bromelain when it is taken by people treated with anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs. Caution is also advised when using it during pregnancy and breastfeeding, for which a medical opinion is recommended.
