NADH (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide - coenzyme 1) is a molecule produced naturally in the human body. It is the main carrier of electrons and protons that feed energy synthesis (ATP) and is therefore involved in numerous vital metabolic pathways. NADH is the activated form of niacin, an essential B vitamin that is not synthesized by the body and must therefore be consumed daily through the diet. The ratio between NAD (+) / NADH is the basis of redox balance and energy production. A disturbance of this balance and therefore a deficiency of NADH has been found in various diseases such as: aging, cognitive dysfunction, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, chronic infections, heart disease, malignant tumor cells, diabetes mellitus, neuropathic and vascular abnormalities in heart disease, diabetes and obesity. NADH is therefore a molecule of extraordinary interest for its health potential.
Given the importance of NADH for energy metabolism, it has been theorized that additional NADH intake may lead to increased performance in tissues that require a lot of energy, such as the heart and skeletal muscles, but also the nervous system and arteries.
It has even been confirmed that higher levels of NADH are associated with improved skeletal muscle contractility. Physical exercise, a very intense living condition, increases the body's ability to produce and transport NADH, which suggests that the cells of athletes and people under stress increase their concentration of this molecule to better adapt to fatigue. In addition, with age, the availability of this molecule in cells decreases.
Consequently, external integration as a nutraceutical can promote energy metabolism and improve the ability to resist fatigue. From a chemical point of view, NADH is very unstable, that is, it is oxidized before being absorbed in the intestine. The chemical stability of NADH is the prerequisite for its effectiveness. PANMOL®-NADH is a special patented process capable of stabilizing NADH without the use of chemicals. The formation of the NADH/chlorophyll complex and the combination with other natural substances (in particular vegetable fats and beeswax to form microcapsules) make PANMOL®-NADH resistant to oxygen, light and non-degradable when in contact with gastric juices.
